KIRIWINA
"Kiriwina" is a Vancouver 28 ft cutter rigged yacht #54 built in 1997 by Northshore Yachts at Itchenor, England.
She was purchased in July 2005 when I became the third owner.
We are on a sailing cruise of indeterminate length with no particular destination.
In 2006 we sailed north as far as Denmark before proceeding south where we wintered 2006/2007 in La Coruña, Galicia, Spain. During 2007 we sailed further south along the Spanish, Portuguese and Moroccan coasts to the Canary Islands where we stayed until late December before sailing south to the Cape Verde islands.
We arrived in Fortaleza, Brazil, towards the end of January 2008 and cruised south to Buenos Aires, arriving in December 2008. Throughout 2009 Kiriwina was moored near Buenos Aires and for most of 2010 she was moored in Puerto Sauce, Uruguay. In November 2010 we left Buenos Aires bound for Ilha Grande in Brazil. We reached Porto Alegre before returning to Uruguay in April 2011.
After haul out and maintenance in Florianopolis, Uruguay we sailed north to Brazil in November 2011, returning to Uruguay in March 2013.
We left Uruguay again in December 2014 for Brazil where we stayed in Florianopolis until February 2016 when, once again, we sailed south to Uruguay.
Arriving in Puerto Sauce in March 2016.
Times change and we returned to Europe, settling in Spain in May 2017.
It being impractical to return Kiriwina to Europe she was sold in March 2018 to local owners in Uruguay.
Our sailing cruise has ended after 12 years. Kiriwina was a fine vessel and served us well.
Thank you for visiting. More details of our travels on and off Kiriwina are in the logs.
